Santorum Comments on Supreme Court Rulings on DOMA and Proposition 8

Verona, PA - Former Republican presidential candidate and Patriot Voices Chairman Rick Santorum issued the following statement in response to the Supreme Court rulings on the constitutionality of the Defense of Marriage Act and Proposition 8:

"I am very disappointed with today's Supreme Court rulings regarding marriage.   The DOMA decision is another case of the high court overstepping its role, just as it did with Roe v. Wade.   Further, the Proposition 8 ruling refuses to affirm the process envisioned by our founders for the American people to express its will.  These great moral issues of our time should be left to the democratic process, not to five activist judges. Time and time again, when the definition of marriage has been put before the people, we have affirmed the unique and irreplaceable role the union of a man and a woman play in society.   The family unit, with a married mother and father, is a special and unique institution and gives children the maximum opportunity to thrive. I join Americans across the country in continuing to fight for a definition of marriage that gives children their birthright, a mom and a dad, and our country the best chance for a great future."

Christian men wrote the US Constitution and the Word of God is embedded within it. What you call an infection I call belief in God. I will continue to believe what I do regardless of what the masses or society thinks is appropriate. I will sacrifice power, prestige, and popularity if it runs contrary to the Bible. It is clear what has been written and I will die believing in it. So will Santorum.

Remand, does NOT mean command, or Demand. With judicial instruction, and further interpretation, and yes, respect and value of marriages, not partnerships.

This is all the more reason to stand firm and be the leaders we were called to be. It is not the time to leave your faith on the back doorstep. Our next President will be a man of God and I truly believe that is Rick Santorum. Thank you for being ahead of the game by moving into the film arena. We need this now more than ever. May you and your family be blessed by your walk.
