Santorum Responds to SCOTUS Actions on Marriage

VERONA, PA – Former Presidential candidate, former U.S. Senator, and Chairman of Patriot Voices Rick Santorum issued the following statement regarding a series of actions by the Supreme Court related to the institution of marriage.

Rick Santorum said: “The actions this week by the Supreme Court regarding the institution of marriage are yet more examples of our court system's disregard for the collective judgment of the American people.  The courts need to be reminded that we live in a republic, not a judicial dictatorship.  They have a limited role under our Constitution and the courts continue to exceed their authority.”

Democracy is not dangerous, but dictatorship in the Republic surely is. They need to establish precedent, and put an end to their non binding discrimination. There not bound to it, but the people affected by their decisions surely are.

Ummm… they declined to act: They are limiting their role, not exceeding it. While I do not agree in the fact that they did not take it up, it is still dangerous either way. NOTHING is more dangerous than the “Will of the majority.”

The court is damned if the do and damned if they don’t.
