Egypt:

Never turn your back on a friend.

President Obama has made so many mistakes in office, but what I think will go down as his 2nd biggest mistake is when he turned his back on our best friend in the Middle East, Egypt's President Mubarak and gave all indications that he was fine with the Muslim Brotherhood and Morsi gaining power.  Why was this decision so bad?  First, we completely lost the trust of the Egyptian people!  But also, the Saudi's (our 3rd best friend in the Middle East) realized that they can't trust President Obama (and hence the USA) to be there if Islamists begin civil conflict in Saudi Arabia.  Now the Saudis can't trust the USA even if a Republican was the next President.  This was confirmed by Republicans McCain, Graham, Paul, and now Corker as they seem to back the Muslim Brotherhood.  So while many in the Senate and Congress want to say how bad the Egypt military is for following the will of their people in getting the Muslim Brotherhood out of power, one of our remaining friends in the region, Saudi Arabia completely backs Egypt's military.    I hope we not going to turn our back against one of remaining friends in the Middle East.

Balancing Our Nations Budget

I can balance our budget but I don't think our lawmakers can. Here is what I purpose please give me feedback.

I think we need a balanced budget that focuses on cutting spending to a substantial level. Also once we have cut spending to these levels we need to increase revenue to levels that will not put us in a deficit. I am putting forth my idea on how to balance our nation’s budget.  I will first focus on Entitlement reforms and then go on to defense and other types of spending. We need to get our country’s fiscal house in order. We need to reform Entitlement programs.

Social Security is an important safety net for our seniors and people with disabilities and the system is broken and it needs to be fixed. Social Security takes up 22 percent of our budget. Here are the ways I believe we need to fix Social Security. First we need to use a different method of calculating the COLA, the method we should use is chained CPI.  Next, we must gradually raise the retirement age to 68. Most seniors are working past the age of 65 and they are living longer.  Second, we must gradually reduce scheduled benefits down to 30 percent by doing this it will slow the growth of Social Security and price index most of the benefits. Also we must reduce spousal benefits from 50 to 30 percent.  Also we need to increase the years used from 35 years to 40 years.  Also we need to include local and state employees into the Social Security system, because some of them are exempt.  We need to also increase the social security tax to 2.01 percent. This increase is needed because right now we have a 75 year shortfall that is equal to 2 percent of taxable earnings.  Also we need to raise the earning cap from 106,000 to 172,000. These fixes will keep Social Security Solvent for generation after generation.

Medicare and Medicaid also are broken and need to be fixed. Medicare and Medicaid make up for 21 percent of our budget. Medicare needs a two stage reform. In the first stage we must, restructure the role of supplemental insurance, also we must gradually increase the beneficiary premiums for Medicare, and finally we must fix the taxpayer subsidies for upper income seniors once this is done then we can eliminate the subsidies for wealthy seniors.  Also we must restructure the way Medicare pays hospitals, there are some hospitals that are in Violation of laws and yet they still receive funding. Also under performing hospitals need to either fix their performance reviews or stop receiving funding from Medicare. Also we need to gradually raise the eligibility age to 68 over a 10 year period.  We also need to eliminate restrictions which would allow Doctors and patients to contract privately for the services.

In the second stage, we need to allow seniors to opt out of traditional Medicare for a private health insurance that allows them to go to the best doctors. Also we need to merge all parts of Medicare into one single unit, which is financed with a single premium.  Another area we need to fix in Medicare is the Fee for service fee; this fee is wasteful, unproductive, and cumbersome.  The reason I call this
wasteful is because it starts problems between patients and their physicians.

In order to fix Medicaid we need to first put Medicaid back into the hands of the state government’s.  We need to allow the states to develop, implement and manage their own Medicaid insurances.  We need to make Medicaid a temporary solution for healthcare. I think states should adopt the Oregon model. Oregon has moved all of their Medicaid patients into coordinated care organizations.  This is a plan that I think will be beneficial to Doctors and patients.

I will now talk about Defense and International Security Spending.  Defense and International spending are a very important part of our budget.  Defense and International spending makes up 19 percent of our budget.  The first area we need to focus on is how much money we send to international countries for aid. I think Foreign aid needs to be given to countries on conditional basis. We should only be giving Foreign aid to countries that share our interests and our allies’ interests. Also we need to make sure these countries are not committing any kinds of human rights or humanitarian violations. Also I think in order for us to save money we need to cut foreign aid in half.  Next we need to increase our troop levels by 46,000 by 2015.  We need to expand benefits to our veterans.  We need to replace the Joint Strike Fighter program with f-16’s and FA 18s.  Also we need to reduce our US Navy Fleets to 250. This will save us about 170 billion dollars.  We need to increase Homeland Security spending to 60 billion by doing this it will allow us to secure our borders more efficiently and it will help us fight off any terrorist attacks.  We need to reverse the initiative that the Army introduced in 2007 which is known as “Grow the Army”. This initiative was to increase active and reservists personnel. If we reserve this program it will save us 110 billion dollars.  By following these steps we can balance out our defense budget for 10 years.

The next area I will focus on is Social and Domestic spending.  These programs take up 12 percent of our budget.  We need to convert SNAP benefits in to Block grants. This will save us 180 billion dollars.  Also we need to limit the highway funding and increase gas taxes and increase fees for aviation security.  By increasing the gas tax it will allow the government to invest in highway projects without increasing our spending.  This will save us about 130 billion dollars. Next we need to cut 30 billion from TANF gradually. By doing this it will save us 30 billion.  Also we need to eliminate the New Market Tax Credit. This is a wasteful tax credit. If we eliminate this it will save us 50 billion.  We need to cut k-12 educational funding by 10 percent. If we do this it will save us about 50 billion. Also we need close tax loopholes and reduce our business taxes.   I know that some of these cuts are drastic but they are needed to balance our budget and get our fiscal house back in order.

We also have other programs that need to be cut or reduced. I think for all civilian and federal retirement benefits and poverty related benefits we need to use chained CPI. By enacting the Chained CPI program it will allow us to save 70 billion dollars. Also we need to reduce increases in civilian pay and we need to cap increases in Military pay.  We need to also cut congressional pay and benefits by 15 percent. Also their staff’s pay and benefits need to be cut.  Also we must reduce farm subsidies. By doing this it will save us 100 billion.

These programs that I have listed to be cut or reduced or eliminated. Will help us balance our budget.  I will now talk about increasing revenue.  These  increases in Revenues will help us balance our budget also. We need to raise taxes on the wealthiest Americans to 40 percent.  People like Donald Trump, Ben Affleck, Beyoncé need to pay a 40 percent income tax rate for their income; furthermore, I think 5.6 percent surtax should be imposed on any income above 1 million.  Also we need to raise taxes on capital gains.  We need to also impose a Financial Crisis Responsibility fee. This fee will require large financial institutions to pay a fee to the taxpayers to compensate them for the TARP. This fee should be based off of the net worth of the institution and the size. We need to start making oil companies and big corporations pay taxes.  Also I think we need to increase our gas tax by 10 cents per gallon. By doing this it will allow us to save 120 billion and it will allow us to reduce the use of gas and it will reduce carbon emissions drastically.  We need to also cap the Child Tax Credit. Parents use this to get as much money from the IRS as possible and sometimes they use kids that don’t live with them.

My plan that I have introduced will lower our GDP to 44 percent by 2020 and keep it at a sustainable level by 2030 and beyond.

Social Security needs reformed

I will be talking about Social Security and its public policy problems. Social Security is a huge Public Policy problem in the United States today. The reason I say this is because people in congress and the president have not brought forth any solution to this broken system. Millions of Americans all over the US receive social security and depend on it to live their lives. Instead Congress and the president fixing the problem they are just making it worse by continuing to spend more, if they continue this spending then social security will be insolvent when I go to retire.   Here are some ways to fix it first we must stop giving people who have not worked a job and we shouldn’t be given it to people who do not have a valid disability.  We should make social security private and it should only be given to those individuals who are disabled or who are retired or retiring. Also we must protect social security’s funds from wasteful spending by congress and the president. The second way to fix the social security system is to stop giving former CEO’S and people with pension’s social security why should they be given extra money when they already receive some form of pension or 401k. The third way to fix social security is we must raise the retirement age to 68 and gradually raise it to 70, there are still seniors who want to work and should be able to work without being forced to retire at 65. The fourth step is we must implement chained CPI and we must stop giving Cost of Living Adjustments until we get the social security funding back to a surplus. If the government implements these steps I can guarantee you social security will be fully funded and it will be fiscally responsible program.  If the democrats and the president continue to push their agenda of not reforming entitlements then our next generation will feel the wrath of a broken entitlement system.

Stop Compromising with the Murder of Abortion!

What are you doing to abolish abortion?

The 2 Greatest Commandments:
Love God with all your heart, soul and mind and love your neighbor as yourself.  Matt. 22:37-40

The Texas 20 wk bill is further legalization of murder. This is corrupt! It is not the right or duty of lawmakers to legalize murder. "Saving some" is what you can do at the murder mill Planned Parenthood. It can work there. However, if our goal is to end Abortion you DO NOT attempt to "save some" in lawmaking. Do you realize how ridiculous it is to say..."You can kill a baby when...." The Texas bill has to actually be OVERTURNED in order to further restrict abortion. Nothing less than abolition is acceptable! Nothing less than abolition will be successful!

It's very disappointing and disgusting to see you support the Texas 20 week bill and the NC bill that allows for exceptions to murder a human being.

Abortion protects rapists and pedophiles. People love to hold on to that rape and incest exception. But it allows no justice or healing. An innocent baby is murdered for the crime of the father....the criminal is left unpunished...and the mother goes from victim to victimizer when she murders her child.

Abortion has not decreased in the last 40 yrs! It has actually increased for under 20 weeks old. All this compromise does nothing but assist Satan in the name of "pro-life". All that is accomplished is that women will now know that they need to hurry up and kill their child before it reaches the accepted "age of protection".

Some thoughts to ponder:
Pro-lifers who argue that the fetal pain bill will establish legal precedent are right. It will establish this precedent as law: preborn humans who feel pain are to be protected, preborn humans who do not feel pain will be destroyed. Any bill following a fetal pain bill that seeks to further restrict abortion will have to contradict and overturn this "pro-life" bill in order to succeed.
--T. Russell Hunter, Abolitionist

I keep hearing that legislatures cannot ban all abortions, as if there is an impediment with the voting machine. The "aye" voting button at a representative's or senator's desk will work just the same whether its a 20 week regulation bill or an Equal Protection bill.
-- Tom Shaw, Iowa Rep

If God gives you the earthly, governmental power to protect every innocent life, as He requires, and as your sacred oath of office to support the Constitution requires, but you tell Him that you were too busy "saving some" and making "laws" that grant "legal" permission to kill all as long as they are murdered on time, somehow I don't think He's likely to accept that. Why is it so hard to simply do the right thing, anyhow?
--America's Party

While we are stuck in a time warp debating at what age persons in the womb can be killed, the other side is already advancing how old can an infant be and still kill it. Evil loves pragmatism and compromise, and we help it along by surrendering our moral principles. -- Tom Shaw, Iowa State Rep and America's Party affiliate

Did you know that most abortions are performed at ≤8 weeks' gestation, and roughly 92% are performed at ≤13 weeks' gestation. Very few abortions (around 8%) are performed at 14--20 weeks' gestation, and even fewer (about 1%) are performed at ≥21 weeks' gestation. The percentage of abortions performed at ≤13 weeks' gestation has remained stable throughout the pro-life movement's decades long incremental battle against abortion. Over the past decade, women have learned that they need to act more quickly when choosing to kill their children. The number of abortions occurring at an earlier gestational stage have increased over time as the number of abortions occurring has remained the same. Don't put all your time, money, and energy into passing legislation that abandons a vast majority of the babies aborted in your state and only encourages women to believe that earlier abortions are better and kinder and safer than later abortions. We need to grab the abortion dragon by his throat, not his tail.

Inappropriate Editing of the Forum's Contents

I'm new to the Forum and responded to a post advocating for an amendment to the Constitution that would define marriage as only a union between a man and a woman.  I read the guidelines, which are reasonable.  But the program that polices the Forum's policies deleted from the post that went online the word "sex" from the term "same sex marriage".  Of course, I fear that the word will be deleted from this.  The word is S - E - X; it is not profane; it is, as a verb, the manner by which we procreate and as a noun, another word for gender. This kind of unilateral editing evidences not merely prudishness but, more importantly and disconcertingly, an overweening compulsion to control the manner in which we express ourselves as well as contempt for the intelligence and maturity of the Forum's participants. Though we are not children and should not be treated as such, the Forum's sponsor might take to heart the children's adage about  sticks and stones and words.

Time for a Federal amendment to define marriage to be the union of one man and one woman.

Below is a copy of my e-mail to my Congressman and to Speaker on the nee for a Federal amendment to define marriage as the union of one man and one woman.

Date: Thu, 27 Jun 2013 11:04:10 -0700
Subject: My e-mail to Congressman Walden & Speaker Boehner on the need for a Federal Amendment to the Constitution to define marriage as the union of one man and one woman.

Dear Congressman Walden;

It is time for the Congress to pass an amendment to the Federal Constitution defining marriage as the union of one man and woman because of the wayward behavior of U.S. courts.  Because the courts are acting so irresponsbily in an area that touches on the very foundation of civlized order, the Congress must move to remove that area of jurisdiction from the U.S. courts.

That marriage can only be the union of a man and a woman is obvious for anyone to see.  The truth is self-evident that only

male and female can, i.e. are able to, marry because only male and female complement one another to form a unit, the family unit.  Because of the nature of man, reason argues against homosexual marriage because reason teaches us that only complements form units and, therefore, concludes from the nature of man itself that marriage must mean the union not of like sex but of complementary sex.

From the self-evident facts of human nature, we can easily conclude there is no homosexual marriage according to the law of nature and,
positively, conclude there is only marriage according to the law of nature where male and female come together.

These facts are so plain, reasonable, and self-evident, that they easily defeat the arguments for homosexual marriage.  These facts readily frame and clarify the issue so a solid conclusion can be drawn because they define for us self-evidently the nature of marriage from the nature of man.

I understand that faith also argues against homosexual marriage.  St. Augustine writes in The City of God (and here I paraphrase for the sake of brevity):  The union of man and woman is the seedbed of the city. Book 15, Chapt 16, para 2.  But in the secular sphere was must argue from reason -- informed, of course, by faith -- because not everyone in our country operates from faith.  But arguing anthropologically, i.e. from the nature of man itself, we can show negatively that there is no same-sex marriage and positively that true and wholesome marriage is the union of man and a woman.

The proper, anthropological understanding of marriage is important to the nation because government arises from marriage.  Homosexuality adversely impacts civil society.  The government is created by marriage; marriage is not created by the government, as some assert.  Hence, for example, in the Roman Empire, the rulers were called "patres patrias", "fathers of the country".  They were called fathers of the country because the ruling or public offices are extensions of the home. Marriage law is merely the recognition by the state of that which already exists, namely, marriage and the households created thereby. The government does not create marriage but merely, as an extension of marriage, regularizes and coordinates the relationship between households, which households are the creation of marriage, so they can relate properly to one another in an orderly way, forming the foundation for civilized order.  Homosexuality obviously cannot form the foundation for civilized order because homosexuals are not complements and cannot, therefore, form a unit.

Finally, homosexuals cannot propagate the human race because they cannot produce offspring and, therefore, cannot form a basis for civilized order.  Homosexuality, or any other deviation from marriage, e.g. adultery, fornication, prostitution, polygamy, etc., are corrosive to civilized order because they dissolve the foundational unit of government and civilized order:  marriage.

Because the U.S. courts can no longer be trusted to recognize and follow that which is obvious from the laws of nature, namely, the anthropological nature of marriage, it is high time for the Congress for the sake of our civlization to pass a Federal amendment to define marriage as the union of one man and one woman and, thereby, remove review of the U.S. courts this foundational institution for society.

Thank you.

       Sincerely,
       Willis C. Jenson.

The framers would be appalled by what our government has done to a simple and very special government, one in which thousands of men and woman died to obtain and many of thousands have died to protect and even to correct a little injustice (Civil War).

I truly see a day in the not so distant future when you will have to choose as A Representative, what side you are truly on.  Conservative and constitutionally driven, or backing the Socialist Democrats and the transformation of government. If you choose the second then I pray for you and your family, and of all of ours, because if  this government and economy continues to be a fly by night Socialist government that caters to special interest, banks and lobbyist we will ultimately see a second civil war and it will not be pretty.

It is sad and tragic that a once great nation built on the idea of independent thought, responsibility, the thirst for freedom and the pursuit of happiness has turned into a greedy, envious, lazy, uneducated, broken and bankrupt Country, That has said “to hell with civil rights, decency, respect for others” and from a land where no man or government could shun his religious beliefs, to the moral decay and the trashing of Christians and Jews.

I believe if you as a Representative truly want to save this federalist republic then you need to say no to the immigration bill, no to Obama care, no to more spending and no to socialism. You need to pick up your Constitution and speak it aloud  you must push for the Fair Tax and repeal the 16th amendment you must fight even if that means you lose your seat, but then you can continue the fight alongside the millions of people like me who believe as our founders did.

I also believe in the following passage, this simple principle concerning the evil of money:

"So you think that money is the root of all evil?"

"Have you ever asked what is the root of money?

Money is a tool of exchange, which can't exist unless there are goods produced and men able to produce them. Money is the material shape of the principle that men who wish to deal with one another must deal by trade and give value for value. Money is not the tool of the moochers, who claim your product by tears, or of the looters, who take it from you by force. Money is made possible only by the men who produce.

Is this what you consider evil?

"When you accept money in payment for your effort, you do so only on the conviction that you will exchange it for the product of the effort of others. It is not the moochers or the looters who give value to money. Not an ocean of tears nor all the guns in the world can transform those pieces of paper in your wallet into the bread you will need to survive tomorrow. Those piece of paper, which should have been gold, are a token of honor—your claim upon the energy of the men who produce. Your wallet is your statement of hope that somewhere in the world around you there are men who will not default on that moral principle which is the root of money. Is this what you consider evil?

"Have you ever looked for the root of production? Take a look at an electric generator and dare tell yourself that it was created by the muscular effort of unthinking brutes. Try to grow a seed of wheat without the knowledge left to you by men who had to discover it for the first time. Try to obtain your food by means of nothing but physical motions—and you'll learn that man's mind is the root of all the goods produced and of all the wealth that has ever existed on earth.

"But you say that money is made by the strong at the expense of the weak? What strength do you mean? It is not the strength of guns or muscles. Wealth is the product of man's capacity to think. Then is money made by the man who invents a motor at the expense of those who did not invent it? Is money made by the intelligent at the expense of the fools? By the able at the expense of the incompetent? By the ambitious at the expense of the lazy? Money is made—before it can be looted or mooched—made by the effort of every honest man, each to the extent of his ability. An honest man is one who knows that he can't consume more than he has produced.

"To trade by means of money is the code of the men of good will.
Money rests on the axiom that every man is the owner of his mind and his effort. Money allows no power to prescribe the value of your effort except the voluntary choice of the man who is willing to trade you his effort in return. Money permits you to obtain for your goods and your labor that which they are worth to the men who buy them, but no more. Money permits no deals except those to mutual benefit by the unforced judgment of the traders. Money demands of you the recognition that men must work for their own benefit, not for their own injury, for their gain, not their loss—the recognition that they are not beasts of burden, born to carry the weight of your misery—that you must offer them values, not wounds—that the common bond among men is not the exchange of suffering, but the exchange of goods.

Money demands that you sell, not your weakness to men's stupidity, but your talent to their reason; it demands that you buy, not the shoddiest they offer, but the best that your money can find. And when men live by trade—with reason, not force, as their final arbiter—it is the best product that wins, the best performance, the man of best judgment and highest ability—and the degree of a man's productiveness is the degree of his reward. This is the code of existence whose tool and symbol is money.

Is this what you consider evil?

"But money is only a tool. It will take you wherever you wish, but it will not replace you as the driver. It will give you the means for the satisfaction of your desires, but it will not provide you with desires.  Money is the scourge of the men who attempt to reverse the law of causality—the men who seek to replace the mind by seizing the products of the mind.

"Money will not purchase happiness for the man who has no concept of what he wants: money will not give him a code of values, if he's evaded the knowledge of what to value, and it will not provide him with a purpose, if he's evaded the choke of what to seek. Money will not buy intelligence for the fool, or admiration for the coward, or respect for the incompetent. The man who attempts to purchase the brains of his superiors to serve him, with his money replacing his judgment, ends up by becoming the victim of his inferiors. The men of intelligence desert him, but the cheats and the frauds come flocking to him, drawn by a law which he has not discovered: that no man may be smaller than his money. Is this the reason why you call it evil?

"Only the man who does not need it, is fit to inherit wealth—the man who would make his own fortune no matter where he started. If an heir is equal to his money, it serves him; if not, it destroys him. But you look on and you cry that money corrupted him. Did it? Or did he corrupt his money? Do not envy a worthless heir; his wealth is not yours and you would have done no better with it. Do not think that it should have been distributed among you; loading the world with fifty parasites instead of one, would not bring back the dead virtue which was the fortune. Money is a living power that dies without its root.

Money will not serve the mind that cannot match it.

Is this the reason why you call it evil?

"Money is your means of survival. The verdict you pronounce upon the source of your livelihood is the verdict you pronounce upon your life. If the source is corrupt, you have damned your own existence. Did you get your money by fraud? By pandering to men's vices or men's stupidity? By catering to fools, in the hope of getting more than your ability deserves? By lowering your standards? By doing work you despise for purchasers you scorn? If so, then your money will not give you a moment's or a penny's worth of joy. Then all the things you buy will become, not a tribute to you, but a reproach; not an achievement, but a reminder of shame. Then you'll scream that money is evil. Evil, because it would not pinch-hit for your self-respect? Evil, because it would not let you enjoy your depravity? Is this the root of your hatred of money?

"Money will always remain an effect and refuse to replace you as the cause. Money is the product of virtue, but it will not give you virtue and it will not redeem your vices. Money will not give you the unearned, neither in matter nor in spirit. Is this the root of your hatred of money?

"Or did you say it's the love of money that's the root of all evil?

To love a thing is to know and love its nature. To love money is to know and love the fact that money is the creation of the best power within you, and your passkey to trade your effort for the effort of the best among men. It's the person who would sell his soul for a nickel, who is loudest in proclaiming his hatred of money—and he has good reason to hate it. The lovers of money are willing to work for it.  They know they are able to deserve it.

"Let me give you a tip on a clue to men's characters: the man who damns money has obtained it dishonorably; the man who respects it has earned it

.
"Run for your life from any man who tells you that money is evil.

That sentence is the leper's bell of an approaching looter. So long as men live together on earth and need means to deal with one another—their only substitute, if they abandon money, is the muzzle of a gun.

"But money demands of you the highest virtues, if you wish to make it or to keep it. Men who have no courage, pride or self-esteem, men who have no moral sense of their right to their money and are not willing to defend it as they defend their life, men who apologize for being rich—will not remain rich for long. They are the natural bait for the swarms of  looters that stay under rocks for centuries, but come crawling out at the first smell of a man who begs to be forgiven for the guilt of owning wealth. They will hasten to relieve him of the guilt—and of his life, as he deserves.

"Then you will see the rise of the men of the double standard—the men who live by force, yet count on those who live by trade to create the value of their looted money—the men who are the hitchhikers of virtue. In a moral society, these are the criminals, and the statutes are written to protect you against them.

But when a society establishes criminals-by-right and looters-by-law—men who use force to seize the wealth of disarmed victims—then money becomes its creators' avenger.
Such looters believe it safe to rob defenseless men, once they've passed a law to disarm them. But their loot becomes the magnet for other looters, who get it from them as they got it. Then the race goes, not to the ablest at production, but to those most ruthless at brutality. When force is the standard, the murderer wins over the pickpocket. And then that society vanishes, in a spread of ruins and slaughter.

"Do you wish to know whether that day is coming?

Watch money.

Sen. Feinstein response to UN Disabilities Treaty

I recently emailed Sen. Dianne Feinstein, urging her to oppose this treaty.  Here is her response:

Thank you for contacting me to express your opposition to Senate ratification of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.  I appreciate hearing your thoughts on this topic, and I welcome the opportunity to address your concerns.

As you may know, the Convention is an international treaty that requires nations to promote, protect, and ensure full legal equality for persons with disabilities.  To date, 153 countries, including the United States, have signed the Convention, and 66 have formally ratified it.

There has been much misunderstanding about this treaty, and I would like to correct the misinformation as follows:

 · Ratification of this treaty would not require any changes to U.S. law, because the United States already meets or exceeds the obligations in the Convention;

 · The United Nations committee established by the Convention can only issue non-binding recommendations regarding implementation of the treaty and does not have any enforcement powers;

 · The Convention will not take away the rights of parents with respect to disabled children or require any changes to U.S. education laws; and

 · The treaty does not change U.S. laws regarding reproductive health, nor does it mandate or prohibit any particular health procedure.

As Senator John Kerry (D-MA), Chairman of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, noted in a December 4, 2012 speech on the Senate floor:

This treaty isn't about American behavior, except to the degree that it influences other countries to be more like us. This treaty is about the behavior of other countries and their willingness to raise their treatment of people with disabilities to our level. It is that simple. This treaty isn't about changing America, it is a treaty to change the world to be more like America.

On December 4, 2012, the Senate voted 61 to 38 in favor of ratification of the treaty, six votes short of the two-thirds majority required.  I voted in favor of ratification, because I believe it is important to protect and promote the rights of persons with disabilities and to ensure that these rights are extended around the world.  This treaty would also protect U.S. citizens with disabilities, including disabled veterans, who live or travel abroad, as well as assist U.S. businesses in ensuring that their international competitors are required to abide by similar laws.

I hope that I have adequately addressed your concerns.  While we may not agree on the merits of this treaty, please continue to keep me informed on issues of importance to you.  If you have any additional questions or concerns, be sure to contact my Washington, D.C. office at (202) 224-3841, or visit my website at www.feinstein.senate.gov.  Best regards.

Sincerely yours,

Dianne Feinstein
United States Senator

Would anyone be willing to comment on this?  Do her comments have any merit?  I don't know what to believe on this issue -- of course, I'm more inclined to side with Rick Santorum than Feinstein.  But I would like someone to offer a rebuttal.  Thanks.

TIME TO STOP TALKING AND START ACTING

Respectfully, what we need to do is stop writing about all the crimes being perpetrated and organize an "As Many Millions As We Can Muster March" on Washington D.C. and say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH and demand our Constitution be upheld and demand that this administration and its willing accomplices be held accountable!
