Please end this Presidents ability to further infringe upon our rights.

We’re losing our country, and the murder weapon has Congresses fingerprints all over it. Congress was created to keep the President in check. Please do so.

Thank you,

To: All members of the 114th United States Congress

I, the undersigned, a lover of liberty, an American patriot, and defender of the right to bear arms, do hereby implore you, our elected representatives, to protect our Second Amendment rights and stop efforts aimed at "universal background checks."

Recent incidents of heartbreaking gun violence have brought the issue of gun safety into the spotlight.  Putting further restrictions on law abiding citizen-gun owners is not the answer.

We have gun laws in place, we need to work hard to enforce existing laws, not create new laws that do nothing to deter criminals and madmen.

The Second Amendment was drafted to protect our First Amendment rights, and according to my First Amendment right to petition, I expect review of this request, and will hold you accountable for your response to it.

Finally, I do hereby pledge to stand with Patriot Voices and conservative patriots nationwide in support of the Second Amendment and against efforts to implement "universal background checks."

  • We know the First Amendment says:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

  • We know that the First Amendment is one of our most precious rights as Americans, and we won’t allow it to be trampled upon.
  • We believe that the efforts by the City of Houston to subpoena materials from pastors across the city is a violation of that right.
  • We stand with these pastors and not just because of religious reasons.  We believe that regardless of one’s religious or political views, this kind of activity by any government in this country is extremely alarming and must be stopped.
  • We believe that the constant drumbeat to weaken our First Amendment is real, and we will stand with Republicans and Democrats to stop it.

Add your name below if you stand with Patriot Voices on this critical issue!

commented on Why Stop the Government "Shut-down"? 2013-10-23 10:17:41 -0400 · Flag
Sedulous Suasion,

Believe it or not, the government “shut-down” is really just the government on a ‘bare bones’ budget. President Obama fought hard to make it look worse than it really was and actually spent extra money to keep civilians out of public locations.

The truth is that government shut-downs are the only way of forcing your hand when developing a budget. The democrats used it many times during the Reagan Era in order to spend more than he was willing to give them, and it was used again here to stop Republicans from postponing the Anti-Affordable Care Act. Unfortunately, democrats are the only ones who know how to get what they want from a shut-down. Republicans are entirely too quick to lay down their arms and climb back into the comfortable saddle of kissing tail in order to get along.

The only way to fix this is to weed out the republican legislators that are too comfortable in their positions and bring in new people with conservative ideas and a willingness to go against the grain. I can tell you honestly, that if Lindsey Graham wins the Republican ticket in SC this year, I’ll vote for a democrat in order to kick him out. Of course, I’d rather see Lee Bright take his seat, but liberal republicans make me angry. They’re liars to the core, and I refuse to support them.

Either the RNC is going to figure out who their base is, or they’re going to become a ‘has been’ party.

Honestly, the IRS was always a bad idea. A flat sales tax that everyone pays would be much more effective. Combine that with heavily taxing ALL imported goods and people will quit lying about their incomes and everyone will pay according to what they spend. The rich will naturally pay more than the poor, because they have more. The illegals and even the tourists to our nation will all be paying a share. I just can’t find a down side to a flat tax. With no special interests involved, the IRS will be reduced to managing the honesty of business owners and the ships importing goods.

The high import tax will also bring industries back to our nation and employ our blue collar workers again. There is a way to fix this mess. It just requires legislators who will step back from ‘politics as usual’, and introduce ‘politics for the care of the majority’ as it was intended to be.

The only way to do this is to reform our polling laws. We show our license to buy cigarettes, alcohol, pharmaceutical narcotics, and educations, but we don’t need a license to vote. Wrong. Our license should be our voter registration card. You should be able to show up without the card as long as you have a valid license. How about we show our license to sign in and then scan our license in the polling booth to vote. The computer then takes your picture and checks it against your license before you proceed. Picasa’s been working on face recognition for years, so I know they can do it.

You have great ideas Sedulous! Keep thinking and keep posting, so they’ll hear us! ;-)

Who are the Minorities?

I'm almost forty, and I'm surprised by how our politics don't match our perspectives in this era.  My childhood didn't include slavery or 'spicks'.  In fact, aside from a few cultural differences that can also be found in people from different states, we were all the same.  As a young child in Indiana, I knew one black boy, Chris.  He walked and talked like everyone else in school and I never even remember wondering why he was black.  I was more curious about the entire family that was excessively obese.  When we moved to south Georgia, we moved into an area that was about 80% black.  Again, aside from cultural differences we were the same.  In fact my first friends there were all black.  Later, in South Carolina, we ran into many Mexicans.  Really, the only difference I saw there was that they were bilingual and enjoyed speaking Spanish in front of those of us who couldn't understand them.

I have, on occasion, been the recipient of prejudice.  Did I mention I'm white, (well, some strange Scottish/German/French mix anyway).  Those prejudices seem to have been passed down from prior generations and are few and far between though.

We have a successfully blended culture, with many mixed race couples.  I think it's time to stop focusing on our differences, and start focusing on our future together.  Minorities are primarily a dead issue now.  Women and blacks own land and vote, as do all the other races in our nation.  We have many races and both sexes in politics.  We've proven that over fifty percent of our nation will vote a black person into our highest political office.

"Minorities" is a dead issue, and should be laid to rest for the health of our nation as a whole.  Illegal immigrants are not minorities, they are criminals that have already proven they believe it's alright to break the law if it's in their best interest.  For the rare occasion that it's actually dangerous for them to go home, grant amnesty.  For the rest of them, strip them of everything they own here and send them back naked.  Everything they earned here belongs to a citizen, not them.  Did they jump the border in Mexico?  Fly them to the southern most part of Mexico and drop them off.  Did they have a child here?  They have a choice, they can leave the child behind to be adopted to a family of citizens, (never to see it again), or they can forsake the citizenship of the child and take it with them.  How in the world did we get to the point that criminals are minorities?  They're not, they're Criminals!

I believe it's possible that Mexico will help us with this endeavor.  Didn't they forsake their Country?  Just ask Mexico to allow us to build an airstrip in one of the most uninhabited parts of the Nation, and then to allow us to fly all of their runaway citizens there.  I would think that Mexico would have a use for criminals.  Perhaps they should give up as many years as they spent here, (but a minimum of one), to help Mexico with their governments financial needs.  They could work in any manual labor capacity for food, shelter and a prison uniform.  I think we could both deter illegal immigration and help Mexico financially all in one sweep.  ;-)

signed Demand the truth about Benghazi 2013-05-13 09:15:14 -0400
I’m very curious about who Diplomat Stevens enemies might have been, and did they have connections in the administration that was supposed to protect him. This is a clear case of murder. We would arrest a drunk driver who made a poor decision and killed another human being. We should also arrest the people who refused to assist this diplomat. When politics lead to murder, it’s time to use our judicial system properly. Thanks!

It’s been more than two years and we still don’t have answers about what happened in Benghazi, Libya when four brave Americans were killed on September 11, 2012.

While the White House is doing its best to quietly and purposefully sweep this tragedy under the rug, we are Patriot Voices are refusing to back down.

We refuse to back down until former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton comes out of the dark and starts answering the important questions about who knew what and when.

Former Secretary of State Clinton asked "what difference, at this point, does it make?"  It makes a big difference.  The truth matters, and the victims' families as well as the American people deserve to know what happened.  Watch this video and help us demand that Hillary Clinton come clean on the following:

•         Who knew what and when?

•         Why were warnings ignored?

•         Was there a cover up?

•         Why were the talking points changed 12 times?

•         Why did her spokesperson delete critical facts regarding the attacks?
